Silage maize is maize that is harvested from fresh maize plants with cobs in the milk line about 1/3 of the grain, with a moisture content of about 65% - 70% and finely cut to obtain a piece of about 4 - 26 millimeters by Harvesting is between 80 95 days depending on the growing season due to the amount of sunlight that is a factor in growth.
then fermented for at least 21 days and with a stable acidity of approximately pH4, it is ready to be fed to ruminants. and can be stored for years
